Rev Katei Kirby is the former CEO of ACEA (African and Caribbean Evangelical Alliance), an umbrella organisation that was set up in 1984 to unite the voice and contribution of the Black Christian community in the UK. Katei joined ACEA as a trustee in 2002 and was appointed as CEO in 2005. She developed and implemented ACEA's strategic agenda for community involvement and political engagement through intentional partnership, until the organisation ceased in 2009.
Katei was ordained in 1999, and was a minister, trustee and International Board member with The Wesleyan Holiness Church until 2011. She headed up the 'Belonging Together' initiative for the Methodist Church in Britain for 3 years, before becoming the first Head of Operations for one of the fastest growing independent churches in the UK. As a minister, mentor and marketing enthusiast, Katei is involved with a number of charitable organisations, and is also a Vice President of Tearfund.
Katei trained for Christian ministry while pursuing a career in customer services and marketing communications. She has held middle and senior management roles in the public, private and charity sector. She was awarded an MA in Strategic Marketing by London Metropolitan University, where she was also a visiting lecturer.

Katei celebrates her Antiguan heritage and has a heart for 'unity in diversity'. Her passion is to be part of the kind of community cohesion that Jesus prayed for in John 17. She welcomes opportunities for engagement and inclusion that bring her Christian faith and her passion for effective communication together.
