A Prayer Request for Evangelical Schools in Ukraine and Russia

August 29, 2014

The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) continues to receive very disturbing reports from Ukraine, including reports of the deaths of four evangelical Pastors in Eastern Ukraine - some suspect that they were targeted for being evangelicals. Please continue to pray for the whole nation, and all the people directly affected by the conflict, as well as for wider geopolitical issues that impact the nation directly.

Most recently, we have received the following prayer requests from Donetsk Christian University which is associated with WEA's Global Partner ICETE (International Council for Evangelical Theological Education):

  • Please pray for the relationships and collaboration between Ukrainian and Russian evangelical schools to gain and show unity in Christ as the priority.
  • Please pray for the schools in Ukraine and Russia, which host the refugees from Eastern Ukraine. They need much wisdom how to help these people to resolve issues related to accommodation, job, cloth, food provision, etc. They need your prayerful and, if possible, financial support. Should you be able to help, please contact Taras Dyatlik directly (tdyatlik@e-aaa.info).
  • Please pray for the Institute for Excellence of Overseas Council, which will take place in Minsk (Belarus) on October 14-17. This will be the first meeting of the principals and representatives of EAAA schools after the Maidan, the annexation of Crimea and the war in Eastern Ukraine.
  • Please pray that the Lord would heal our hearts and values, relationships and attitudes.
