Pray for the unreached people - Shixing of China

May 21, 2012

Shixing of China

Shixing of China
The area inhabited by the Shixing has a long and rich history. Their villages are "guarded by watchtowers erected by powerful Naxi kings several hundred years ago." The Naxi's interest in the region may have been due to the abundance of gold once found in the Shou Chu River. There has never been a known believer or Christian fellowship among the Shixing people.

Ministry Obstacles
The Shixing have no background in monotheism - there is much to correct in their worldview.

Outreach Ideas
Han Chinese believers may be able to carry the message of salvation to their Shixing neighbors.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the believers that will one day emerge among the Shixing, that pastors and teachers are even now being prepared for them.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray the Shixing will awaken to their need for life as found in the one who is "the Way, the Truth, and the Life."

Scripture Focus
"Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as Your possession." Psalm 2:8

Presented by Joshua Project

Joshua Project is a research initiative of the U.S. Center for World Mission (USCWM) seeking to highlight the ethnic people groups of the world with the least followers of Christ. It gathers, integrates and shares people group information to encourage pioneer church-planting movements among every ethnic group and to facilitate effective coordination of mission agency efforts.
