February 9, 2013

New York, NY – February 10, 2013

The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) congratulates Dr. Michael Oh on his appointment as Executive Director and CEO of the Lausanne Movement. “The WEA wishes Michael Oh God's richest blessing as he takes on this great new responsibility,” Dr. Geoff Tunnicliffe, Secretary General of the WEA, says.

“The WEA looks forward to growing the partnership between our two movements, building on the strong foundation of the warm personal friendship Doug Birdsall and I, with many others, have built up over the years,“ Dr. Tunnicliffe adds.

The WEA, whose global constituency is based on grass root churches, continues to be grateful to God for the important contributions of the Lausanne movement to His kingdom. The many events it has organized as well as the related literature that has been produced have served as valuable resources for the global Church.

Gordon Showell-Rogers, Associate Secretary General of the WEA, states: „The WEA and Lausanne have so much in common: including a large number of WEA people, who have leading roles in Lausanne initiatives and structures. We are excited about exploring ways of building even greater synergy between the two movements, in conversation with Michael and other Lausanne leaders.”
