EFC CALLS FOR PRAYER FOR PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS WORLDWIDE
Pray for us! This is the plea of Christians around the world who are being persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ. In Canada, where we have freedom to worship, let us remember those who are not so fortunate. On November 13, join others in a global prayer for the persecuted.

UNDERSTANDING RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION SEMINAR WITH DR. SUDHAKAR MONDITHOKA OF INDIA
The EFC, together with Voice of the Martyrs Canada (an EFC affiliate), is pleased to announce that Sudhakar Mondithoka will be teaching a two-day seminar on "The Theology of Persecution” focusing on religious freedom and the global persecution of Christians. We invite you to join us at this seminar and learn more about persecution around the world on September 27 and 28 in Ottawa.

NATIONAL PRAYER LEADERS GATHER IN OTTAWA
A national prayer leaders gathering facilitated in part by Aileen Van Ginkel, EFC vice president of ministry services, was held in Ottawa, September 12-14. The Tuesday focus included a prayer walk on Parliament Hill, for which EFC VP Don Hutchinson provided background commentary, and a time of prayer for EFC staff based in Ottawa.

EFC TO SPEAK IN RELIGIOUS FREEDOM CASE
The Supreme Court of Canada has decided that not all interveners will speak in the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission v. William Whatcott case scheduled to be heard October 12, 2011. The EFC has been granted that privilege. For more information.

FREE SPEECH IN FAITH TODAY MAGAZINE
The latest issue of the EFC magazine, Faith Today, has a cover story about freedom of expression in Canada. What does it mean to “speak the truth in love”? What should we do when someone gets fired for saying he supports a traditional understanding of marriage? (It happened to broadcaster Damian Goddard.) Watch this 30 second video to find out more – then pass it on.

AN EFC PRESENTER CAN COME TO YOUR CONGREGATION
Paul Hilsden, manager, EFC affiliate relations, will be speaking to the congregation of North Burlngton Baptist Church in Burlington, Ontario, an EFC affiliate congregation, on Sunday, September 25th in the 10:00am service. We would be happy to come to your place of worship and share with your congregation – just contact Paul Hilsden at hilsdenp@efc-canada.com for more information!

WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FREEDOM?
Religious liberty and freedom of conscience is the first freedom mentioned in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and it is so by design, not by accident. If the citizen is not free in his conscience, where else can he be free? Read this commentary posted on Christianity.ca – Canada’s Christian Library Online.
