On November 19, the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) welcomed Nathanael Tran as the new Executive Director of the Information Technology Commission (ITC) following the official endorsement of the International Council (IC) of WEA.

Tran, who has already directed the majority of the WEA IT work over the past year, was recommended to the post during the WEA International Leadership Team Conference held early this month in Limuru, Kenya.

“I am delighted in the appointment of Nathanael Tran as the Executive Director of our Information Technology Commission. Nathanael brings to this position not only the skills and knowledge needed to for this role, but also is a wonderful servant leader. I believe under Nathanael’s leadership WEA will be able to keep on the cutting edge of IT as we seek to serve the global community of evangelicals,” said Dr. Geoff Tunnicliffe, the International Director of WEA.

Tran expressed gratitude for his appointment and spoke about his role and the role of the ITC in helping the WEA develop through the means of information technology.

“I am truly thankful to have this opportunity in serving with WEA. The WEA Information Technology Commission exists to serve and trail blaze the field of internet for God’s Kingdom. My role is to facilitate the service between our designers, developers, and WEA leaders,” said Tran. “WEA’s online presence is as bright as ever with current projects such as the WEA website, intranet, online feedback system, regional and national website networks. The tools we integrate will bring members up to par with the ever-developing field of IT.”

Tran also extended his gratitude toward the members and friends of the WEA family.

“I want to thank our international IT staff that has diligently turned WEA’s conceptual ideas into reality,” said Tran. “I thank the former director, Samuel Lee, for his service in laying the foundations for the IT Commission during its infant stage. I also thank all the WEA leaders for their support and guidance toward a developing ministry.”
